Dr Anushka Baruah is currently practising as a gastroenterologist and hepatologist with the Advocate Aurora Medical Group in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. After graduating from Sri Devaraj Urs Medical College, Kolar, Karnataka in 2013, she moved to Rochester, Minnesota to pursue translational research in esophageal cancer and clinical research in advanced therapeutic endoscopy at Mayo Clinic. This was followed by a 3 year internal medicine residency at John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County in Chicago, Illinois. After three fulfilling years of intensive medical training during residency, she joined a three year fellowship in gastroenterology and hepatology at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee and then joined the Advocate Aurora Medical group after graduating from fellowship. Dr Baruah harbours a passion for learning complex pathophysiological processes, solving diagnostic dilemmas and being an aggressive advocate for high quality patient care. She practices evidence-based medicine and specialize in management of complex gastrointestinal disorders including advanced liver and pancreatic pathologies. She performs diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures and routinely takes care of high risk patients. She firmly believes in providing comprehensive and compassionate care to all her patients and actively involving them in all aspects of decision-making with regards to their medical condition. Dr Baruah would like to contribute to the current and ongoing human tragedy brought on by Covid 19 in India, by offering free consults for those without ability to pay.
