This test gives two types of results:

  • Reactive Result: This result indicates that IgG antibodies to SARS-CoV-2 were detected, and the person is likely to have or previously had COVID-19 and that they have developed an antibody response to the virus.

  • Non-reactive Result:This result means that the IgG antibodies to the virus that causes COVID-19 were not found in your sample. However, there are instances when the test gives an incorrect result (false Non-reactive) in certain people with Covid-19. For instance, a false Non-reactive result may be given if the person tested early in their illness and their body hasn’t had time to produce IgG antibodies to infection.
